Ask whether orthopedic evaluations were completed and request the result or public record when available.
A responsible match starts with clear, litter-specific information about the sire and dam—not a generic promise.
Before reservation or payment, ask us to identify the applicable sire and dam and provide their current photos, ages, colours, temperaments and available health records. Parent information can differ from one litter to another, so we connect it to the specific puppy in your inquiry.
We do not use unrelated stock photos as parent profiles. Exact parent photos and supporting records are shared directly for the current pairing so families can review the correct dogs.
Request parent informationThe Chow Chow parent club’s recommended screening categories give families a useful framework for asking informed questions.
Ask whether orthopedic evaluations were completed and request the result or public record when available.
Patellar evaluation helps document kneecap health in prospective breeding dogs.
Ask about examination by a veterinary ophthalmologist and the date of the most recent evaluation.
Thyroid evaluation is another recommended category to discuss for the parent pairing.
See the AKC Chow Chow health recommendations and learn how public records work through the OFA CHIC program. A CHIC number means required tests were completed and made public; it does not by itself mean every result was normal.
Early handling in our family environment
Current-litter context—not a parent profileTemperament, movement, structure and the ability to live successfully with people all matter. We encourage families to ask how each parent behaves around familiar adults, visitors, grooming, handling and normal household activity.
For the current litter, we can explain what traits we observe in the parents and puppies without promising exactly how an individual puppy will mature.
Choose a puppy in the inquiry form and request the current sire and dam photos, records and temperament notes.
