This Adoption Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between Local Chow Breeders, identified above and hereinafter referred to as the “Breeder,” and the undersigned individual or entity executing this Agreement, hereinafter referred to as the “Applicant.”

The purpose of this Agreement is to establish the terms and conditions under which the Applicant may apply for and, subject to approval, adopt a Chow Chow puppy from the Breeder. By executing this Agreement, the Applicant formally applies for the adoption of a Chow Chow puppy under the terms and conditions set forth herein. Completion and execution of this Agreement shall constitute a binding application and acknowledgment of the Applicant’s responsibilities, as well as the Breeder’s obligations, with respect to the adoption process.

03 One-Year Health Coverage Guarantee

This guarantee is valid for one year from the adoption date and covers genetic and hereditary health issues diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian. It excludes routine illnesses, injuries, or conditions resulting from neglect, accidents, or improper care.

Comprehensive health checks are conducted before adoption.
Vaccinations and deworming are up to date at the time of adoption.
Any covered health issue must be reported within the guarantee period with proper veterinary documentation.
Provide accurate health records and pedigree information.
Offer support and guidance on puppy care and health.
Honor the guarantee terms and assist with claims or returns.

Breeder Responsibilities

The breeder commits to providing accurate health records, vaccination history, and ongoing support to the new owner. We ensure the puppies are raised in a clean, safe environment with proper nutrition and socialization. Our puppies come with a health guarantee covering congenital or hereditary conditions for the specified period, and each puppy receives appropriate veterinary care and vaccinations before adoption.

Owner Responsibilities

Owners agree to provide proper care, nutrition, medical attention, and a loving home for the puppy. This includes regular veterinary checkups, vaccinations, grooming, adequate exercise and safe socialization.

Claims and Returns

In the event of health issues covered under the guarantee, owners must notify the breeder promptly and provide veterinary documentation. Returns, replacement arrangements or refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis according to the signed adoption agreement.

Effective Date and Binding Nature

This Agreement becomes effective upon execution by the Applicant. Completion and execution of this Agreement constitutes a legally binding application.

Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine.

Entire Agreement

This document constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior discussions.

04 Puppy delivery process

Our delivery procedures are designed to protect your puppy’s safety and well-being. From scheduling to arrival, we coordinate each detail to provide clear expectations and peace of mind.

Step 1: Registration and Documentation

Once your adoption agreement is confirmed, your puppy will be registered for delivery within 48 hours. Before travel, your puppy will undergo a health check by a licensed veterinarian, including necessary vaccinations and a health certificate for travel purposes. Your puppy will travel in a secure, comfortable carrier with familiar bedding and essentials such as food and water. Digital ID tags and microchip information are attached when applicable.

Step 2: Shipping Method and Tracking

We use trusted pet transport services equipped with GPS tracking and real-time updates. You will receive available tracking information so you can monitor progress. When air travel is appropriate, we may work with reputable carriers such as American Airlines Cargo, Delta Cargo, United Airlines or Lufthansa Cargo, subject to current route, weather and carrier policies.

Step 3: Coordinating Pickup and Delivery

Pickup and delivery times are scheduled to minimize travel time and stress. We coordinate with the selected transport service for a smooth handoff and timely arrival. Depending on the confirmed plan, the puppy may be collected at the nearest agreed airport or delivered to your residence.

To help your puppy settle in, families may share training preferences and household routines before delivery. Upon arrival, please conduct a prompt health and wellness check, provide hydration and a calm environment, and contact us with any questions.

Reservation deposit: A $300 deposit is required when a reservation is approved. This form does not collect payment. Payment instructions are provided only after availability and the submitted agreement are reviewed.

06 Adoption agreement and electronic signature

By submitting this form, I certify that the information provided is true and complete. I understand the responsibilities of adopting a Chow Chow puppy and agree to provide proper care, nutrition, medical attention, grooming, exercise, socialization and a loving home. I agree to the terms and conditions set by the Breeder.

Important: This agreement records the current adoption terms and application details. Final approval, puppy availability, transport arrangements and payment instructions must be confirmed by Local Chow Breeders. Customers should keep their confirmation number and all receipts.
